Yauk / Jauk Family Page
( also including Yauck, Jauck, Youck, Yauch, and Jauch )
Welcome!
I am Larry Yauk, and I would like these pages to serve as one central
place to share genealogy and family histories, and 'connect'
with other family members.
You can post family trees, photos, obituaries, gedcom files,
census records, old letters or stories,
recipes, or anything else that could help or be of interest to
others in our family lines.
You can share you records or research by sending me e-mail and I will post it
to the Family Pages as soon as possible.
It is my hope and GOAL to trace and/or 'connect' ALL the Yauk/Jauk/Jauch
and phonetically equivalent family names in the world,
and share this information openly with all family members.
This includes surnames:
Yauk, Jauk, Yauck, Jauck, Youck, Yauch, Jauch ,
and other variations when links are made. In one case, we even know
of a Youck who legally changed his name to York!
I will continually be updating and adding to this site, so come back often.
As these pages improve over time I hope they become a source of enjoyment and
education for Yauk families around the world!
Congratulations to John and Kate Yauk of Manitou Springs CO, who are
celebrating their 60th! wedding anniversary this February!
I have scanned many
[stories]
written by Uncle John, and attached them
to these pages.
We heard recently from the family of Dr. Albert Jauk of Germany,
formerly Siberia Russia, and before that Oberdorf Ru. I updated the
Oberdorf page with his information. Thank you, Dr. Jauk!
Summer 2001:
We have heard from an a German/Oberdorf Russian Jauk family that was
deported in 1941. See the
Oberdorf page. (Thank you for writing, William and family!)
The Yauk Reunion in Buffalo Oklahoma was interesting and delicious.
Writeups and details from that gathering will be added to the
[reunion-site].
Recent months have taken a harsh toll on many Yau(c)k families...
Alexander Yauck of Duval SK, on June 8, 2001, at age 91
Mary Dent (nee Youck) of Regina SK, on June 4, 2001, at age 86
Helen Yauk of Jackson MI, on May 30, 2001, at age 80 [my mom]
Lester Krenz of Buffalo OK, on May 24,2001, at age 79
Alexander Jauk of Berlin Germany (Oberdorf Ru descendent), on May 15,2001, at age 53
Donald Gordon Yauk of Anaheim, on April 16, 2001, at age 67
Maria Katherina Kuxhaus (nee Yauck) of Duval SK, on Dec 16, 2000 at age 94
They will be fondly remembered.
Spring 2001:
The big news is [WAS] an upcoming YAUK REUNION in Buffalo OK this June!
All Yauk / Yauck / Youck / Yauch / Jauk / Jauck / Jauch families by any spelling
have been invited. More information is available on the DISCUSSION page, PLUS a
special Yahoo 'club' has been created specifically for this topic....
Here are two starter links to these messages:

REQUEST FOR PHOTOS!... I would like to add MORE PHOTOS to these pages.
I recommend photos of deceased ancestors, and those of our OLDEST
living generations.
If you can, please
scan any good quality CLOSE-UPS and send them to me, or else check with me to do
the scanning. Wedding photos and military photos seem to turn out well.
September 2000:
Most improvements in the last few months have been in the 'who's who' page,
especially in the Volga German families that settled in Oklahoma, Texas, Wisconsin, Illinois,
Saskatchewan, and Winnipeg.
There are also improvements in the 'history' and the 'discussion' pages.
We have even heard from, and know a lot more about the Yauks in South America!
April 2000:
Considerable updates were made in recent months in the WhosWho page.
Thank you everyone for helping to make these pages better.
More family histories, obituaries, or stories are being added to the History page.
The email account I used last October to January at email.com was accidently
deleted and closed. If you ever wrote me there, I may have lost your messages.
In some cases I even lost some of your email addresses.
I try hard to restrict unwanted junk email.
If you ever send me something, and I do not acknowledge it
in a reasonable time, please write again, because your first mail may have been lost.
My dad, Victor Yauk of Jackson Michigan passed away at the end of March
January 2000:
There is a new DISCUSSION area, ( password = family ) where everyone
can have a say.
The HISTORY page is a new format, and contains a few new family stories, with more to follow soon.
More data and theories were added to the Croatian Jauk page.
I started a page that lists other Jauk/Yauk/Jauch home pages.
There is also a new page that collects findings about the Jauk/Yauk/Jauch
surname origins.
This way, if I ever need to move these pages again, you will still find them.
HINT: In Netscape, you can DRAG one of these links onto your titlebar! (or to your
bookmark icon)
How This Page Gets Done
This version of the Family Page is often under construction.
Plus, it is common for features to break as these pages age.
If something here seems broken, maybe you should TELL ME?
But first, consider that it may be you have an older or different browser,
or you may have different options enabled.
Physically, this FIRST page exists in multiple places, such as:
rootsweb.com, or
geocities.com, or
metropolis.de.
One of these locations may work better (or faster) for you.
